YEQT

The 12th edition of the Young European Queueing Theorists (YEQT) workshop will take place December 3-4 in the ENSEEIHT School of Engineering in Toulouse. It will be co-located with the international conference IFIP Performance 2018, https://performance2018.sciencesconf.org/.

The Young European Queueing Theorists (YEQT) workshops are organized on a yearly basis, generally at Eurandom, Eindhoven, but for the first time it will not take place there. An overview of the workshops organized in the past eleven years can be found at http://www.eurandom.nl/events/workshops/YEQT/YEQT.htm

As the name suggests, the aim of these workshops is to bring together young researchers, PhD students or recently appointed lecturers and assistant professors, and world-leading experts in order to share and discuss research related to queueing theory, operations research, applied probability and related areas. This event provides an excellent opportunity for developing researchers to interact and exchange ideas in an informal, friendly, yet research-focused setting. The workshop program will consist of a set of presentations from young researchers and several keynote presentations and tutorials by senior researchers.

The theme of this year YEQT workshop is "Queueing Theory and Performance Analysis of Computer and Communication Systems". The workshop will focus on the application of queueing theory to the performance modeling, analysis and optimization of computer-communications systems and protocols. There will be three keynote/tutorial speakers. Aside from these senior researchers, we plan to invite about 10 young researchers to give presentations on their work that fits the workshop's theme.

Young researchers who are interested in giving a talk should send an email to yeqt12@sciencesconf.org with a link to their homepage (or CV) and title/abstract of the talk. Invitation decisions will be made by organizers based on candidate's credentials and the theme of the workshop.
